Ian’s Vision for a Better Seaside
Seaside Moving Forward
My vision for Seaside is simple: protect what makes our city special while continuing to move our community forward with purpose, discipline, and opportunity for all.
I want Seaside to be a city where people feel safe in their neighborhoods, where families can put down roots, where young people can see a future for themselves, and where seniors can continue to live with dignity in the community they helped build. Quality of life must remain at the center of every decision we make.
To me, moving Seaside forward begins with community safety. That means supporting our first responders, preventing violence before it starts, strengthening trust between residents and public safety, and making sure our streets, parks, sidewalks, and public spaces are safe and well cared for.
It also means building a stronger local economy that works for our residents. Growth should create good jobs, support small businesses, strengthen city services, and respect the character of our community. We should welcome investment, but we must do it the right way—with smart planning, accountability, and real benefits for the people who live here.
Moving Seaside forward also means facing our housing challenges with urgency and fairness. Too many residents are being priced out of the city they love. I will continue fighting for more housing choices, stronger renter stability, greater access to homeownership, and practical efforts to prevent homelessness before families fall into crisis.
I also believe one of the best investments we can make is in our children, teens, and young adults. A stronger Seaside begins with early opportunity, quality education, positive youth programs, and real pathways to college, careers, and purpose. When we invest in young people, we invest in the future of our city.
Above all, I believe leadership begins with listening. I will continue to lead with accessibility, accountability, and respect, because residents deserve a Mayor who shows up, tells the truth, and stays focused on results.
My vision is not growth for growth’s sake. It is a safer, stronger, more inclusive Seaside where opportunity is broader, neighborhoods are stronger, and the quality of life we value is protected for the next generation.
That is the Seaside I believe in. That is the Seaside I will keep fighting for. That is A Seaside Moving Forward.
